Lorrie Horne – Head Coach Lorrie Horne was elected into the Ringette Canada Hall of Fame in the Coaching category in 2008.  Lorrie is presently the coach for Team Canada  (Senior) and has brought home Gold for Canada at the 2015, 2017 & 2019 World Junior Ringette Championships. Lorrie held the helm for Team Canada (Senior) 2002, which brought home the gold for Canada for the first time since 1996. At the 2004 World Championships, Team Canada brought home the silver while in the 2000 World Championships, Horne was the Coach for the U.S.A National Ringette Team that won Bronze. In the 1999-2000 ringette season, she head coached the Kerava Shakers in Finland’s National League where she took her team from 12th to a 6th place playoff spot, something that the Shakers had never done.

Lorrie Horne knows the game of ringette. She has played and coached the game for 30 years including 2 years in the Finnish National League. Horne is regarded as one of the top women’s coaches in the nation. Her work ethic and dedication to the sport of ringette are second to none. She has made an outstanding contribution to the development of athletes at all levels of ringette in Canada. Horne is a credible role model to her athletes, earning their respect for her technical knowledge of the game and her calm, cerebral approach to coaching.

Craig Schmidt – Power Skating Coach – SPRA Power AA Coach – Craig has been around the ringette community from the early days of his sister playing AA in Calgary. Now coaching his daughter in Sherwood Park at the AA level.  Craig is always learning from the best ringette and power skating coaches in our community. Craig is a teacher with the Edmonton Public School Board. 

SPRA Power AA Players – Kate Rogers, Addie Heinish, Amelia Hawkes, Jenna Cargan, Kayla Liber, Leah Schmidt, Savanna Maloney, Vanessah Forster  –  these coaches grew up as at the Future Champions camps and play the highest level of ringette for their age.  They are excited to pass along their knowledge of the game to our up and coming players.  These competitive athletes love their ringette family and love to have fun while working hard!
