COACHES

Lorrie Horne – Lorrie is the on-ice planner and designer of the annual Future Champions Camp.  In January 2023, Lorrie was added to the Strathcona County Wall of Fame in the building category.  Member of the  Ringette Canada Hall of Fame in the Coaching category in 2008.  Lorrie has brought home Gold for Canada at the 2015, 2017 & 2019 World Junior Ringette Championships as well as 2002 as the Senior Coach.  She has played and coached the game for 35+ years including 2 years in the Finnish National League. Horne is regarded as one of the top women’s coaches in the nation. Her work ethic and dedication to the sport of ringette are second to none. Horne is a credible role model to her athletes, earning their respect for her technical knowledge of the game and her calm, cerebral approach to coaching.

Craig Schmidt – SPRA Power AA Coach – Craig has been around the ringette community from the early days of his sister playing AA in Calgary. Now coaching his daughter in Sherwood Park at the AA level.  Craig is always learning from the best ringette and power skating coaches in our community. Craig is a teacher with the Edmonton Public School Board.

Angela Kotyk – SPRA Power AA Coach – Angela has played ringette since she was young and now giving back to the community as Coach Development Director for SPRA.  “Angie-Koko” Coaches in Sherwood Park and always puts the girls first; in return the players love Coach “Angie-Koko”. It’s hard not to smile when you are on or off the ice with Coach Kotyk.  

SPRA Power AA Players – Kate Rogers, Addie Heinish, Jenna Cargan, Kayla Liber, Savanna Maloney, Vanessah Forster, Sienna Famulak, Danae Funnel and Alaina Heinish.  These coaches grew up at the Future Champions camps and play the highest level of ringette for their age.   They are excited to pass along their knowledge of the game to our up and coming players.  These competitive athletes love their ringette family and love to have fun while working hard and pushing themselves to their very best!
